Our Commitment to Accessibility

CenterPlace Health is committed to making our website accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We believe that healthcare information should be available to everyone, and we work to ensure that centerplacehealth.org provides an inclusive experience regardless of the technology or assistive devices our visitors use.

Standards We Follow

This website has been audited and remediated to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level A and Level AA, the internationally recognized standard for digital accessibility published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

The remediation work was completed by Brian Joseph Studios in May 2026 using a combination of automated auditing tools, manual code review, and hands-on testing with assistive technologies.

How We Tested

Our accessibility audit and remediation included the following methods:

• Google Lighthouse — automated accessibility scoring on both desktop and mobile views of every page template.
• WAVE (Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool) — automated detection of contrast errors, missing labels, and structural issues.
• Manual keyboard testing — every interactive element on the site was tested using a keyboard alone to ensure it can be reached, operated, and exited without a mouse.
• Screen reader testing — pages and forms were tested with screen reader software to confirm that all content is announced clearly and in a logical order.

Accessibility Features on This Site

Specific accessibility features built into centerplacehealth.org include:

• A "Skip to main content" link at the top of every page, visible to keyboard users on first Tab keystroke, that bypasses the header and navigation.
• Color and text contrast meeting WCAG AA ratios across all body content, navigation, buttons, and footer.
• Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements so keyboard users can see where they are on the page.
• Descriptive alt text on informative images, and appropriate marking of decorative images so screen readers don't announce redundant or distracting content.
• Properly labeled form controls on the contact, newsletter, and search filter forms, including programmatic association between labels and inputs.
• Semantic HTML structure — headings in correct hierarchical order, main content landmarks, and ARIA attributes where they aid assistive technologies.
• Reduced motion support — animations are disabled automatically for users who have set the prefers-reduced-motion preference in their operating system or browser.

Known Limitations

Despite our remediation efforts, some content on this website may still present accessibility barriers. Known areas of partial conformance include:

• Embedded third-party content — including the interactive Google Maps location finder and the external chatbot widget — may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We have applied our own accessibility improvements to these elements where possible, but their underlying behavior is controlled by the third-party providers. In every case, an equivalent accessible alternative is provided elsewhere on the page (for example, a text-based location listing accompanies the interactive map).
• Older PDF documents available for download from this site may not have been fully tagged for accessibility. If you need information from a PDF in an alternative format, please contact us using the information below and we will work to provide it.
• User-generated content added to the site after the audit completion date — including new blog posts, news articles, or staff profiles — may introduce new accessibility issues. We perform an annual maintenance audit to identify and address such issues.
