Gloria received her Bachelors of Nursing from St. Leo University and her Master of Business Administration from the University of South Florida. She is a long-time Sarasota resident. Currently, she works for Florida Blue Cross-Guidewell Holding as their Medicare STARs Consultant working with various providers in Southwest Florida to attain a 5 STAR rating, with an impact on approximately 11 thousand covered lives.
Previously she worked as a Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) Practice Advisor for WellCare Insurance Corporation. In that role, she assisted practices in Southwest Florida to improve their scores, impacting approximately 120 thousand covered lives. Earlier in her career, she worked for Doctor’s Hospital as Cardiovascular Nurse Educator/Congestive Heart Failure/Stroke Coordinator in the PCU/ICU. In that role, she worked closely with the director to coordinate the education of patients with Congestive Heart Failure, Myocardial Infarction, and Stroke to reduce readmission rates. Gloria possesses expertise in health care quality improvement and risk and insight into current third-party insurance payment structures.
